C2 (5), Late Carboniferous

Province:
Xinjiang

Type Locality and Naming

Volcaniclastics. A suite of neritic pyroclastic deposits, intercalated with minor terrigenous clastic material. In the type section it is composed of tuffaceous sandstone, fine-grained sandstone, siltstone and tuff, intercalated with carbonaceous-clayey siltstone, with sandstone-conglomerate and conglomerate in the middle and upper parts. Lithology Pattern:
Volcanic ash
