Yaomoliang Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is lies at the upper Baiyang River, Erdaogou, Barkol County, Xinjiang. It was named by Zhao Mingyu et al. in 1976, and formally cited in The Paleozoic Erathem of Xinjiang in 1991.
Lithology and Thickness
Volcaniclastics. A suite of neritic pyroclastic deposits, intercalated with minor terrigenous clastic material. In the type section it is composed of tuffaceous sandstone, fine-grained sandstone, siltstone and tuff, intercalated with carbonaceous-clayey siltstone, with sandstone-conglomerate and conglomerate in the middle and upper parts. Exposed thickness 1357 m. Lithology is stable along strike, with the occurrence of basaltic and andesitic crystal tuffs, and the degree of minor metamorphism was locally enhanced.

Lower contact
Unknown: It is in faulted contact with the underlying Dananhu Fm (but regional Devon column implies regionally the next older formation is latest-Devon Keankuduk Fm)

Conformable contact with the overlying Erdaogou Fm
